Call for Abstracts
Triple Joint 75th Southeastern / 60th North-Central /

60th South-Central Annual Section Meeting

Memphis, Tennessee, 8-11 March 2026

 

Showcase your research and engage with a focused scientific community at the 2026 GSA Triple Joint Southeastern / North-Central / South-Central section meeting!


Technical Sessions will take place from Monday, 9 March 2026 to Wednesday, 11 March 2026. The Opening Reception will occur on Sunday, 8 March 2026.


All technical sessions will be in-person for 2026.

Instructions


Peruse the Topical Sessions to determine if there is a session that fits your abstract(s). You can use the search tools to filter sessions related to your research. Once you have selected the Topical Session you would like to submit to, please click "Submit Abstract." You will then be prompted to log in to your GSA account* to complete your submission.


If you do not see a topic that is a fit, please choose "Discipline Sessions" and select the category that best fits your abstract. Discipline sessions will be created after the abstract deadline. Once you click on "Discipline Sessions" or "Submit a Discipline Abstract you will be prompted to log in to your GSA account* to complete your submission.

*All abstract submissions must be completed using a GSA account. If you do not have one, you will be asked to create an account. A GSA account is free, but consider becoming a member to reduce your abstract submission fees and registration costs.

To note:

 

  • Abstract Limits: You may submit up to two (2) abstracts, one oral and one poster, OR two posters, as the presenting author.

  • You do not need to finish your submission in one sitting. You may return to the portal to make edits/additions up to the submission deadline.

  • Presentation Mode: You may select "oral" or "poster" for the mode of presentation. If you do not have a preference, kindly choose “either.”

    • The session conveners may override your choice if your abstract fits in a session that has a presentation mode different from your choice. Session and program organizers’ decisions are final.

  • Support: If you would like your abstract to be placed in a different session from where you started the submission, or you need other support, please contact southeast@geosociety.org for assistance.

  • GSA does not edit your abstract(s) prior to the committee’s evaluation. Please make sure your abstract text description is the final version, and free from spelling and grammatical errors.

  • Are you a student? There are sessions designed just for you. We recommend working with your advisor during the submission process and starting early!

  • Abstract Fees: You must pay to submit an abstract. Abstracts fees are non-refundable and in USD. Abstract fees are based on the SUBMITTER'S member type. Invited Speakers must also pay the abstract fee.

Student Member = $18
Non-Member = $60
Student Non-Member = $36
